My Big Bro In DC..... Love ya

So This morning I am sitting here watching the Barack Obama's inauguration, like so many other people around the world. I wish that my wife was able to be here with me. However she is in Croatia and right now its 5:30pm and she is headed to her second practice of the day. Looking at so many pictures that my Big bro has sent me from Washington right now. There is one that stood out.
Now I know that when people look at Obama they see black man, but when I look at him I see a Multi-Racial man. It reminds me so much of myself, I may look black, but in fact I am Multi-Racial. When people skip over the fact that I am Multi-Racial, I have to correct them. For me not acknowledging that fact is like disrespecting my grandmother and what she fought for. I have a Irish and German grandmother who married a black man and her family disowned her. Once she made the decision to follow her heart “SHE NEVER SPOKE TO HER FAMILY AGAIN”. I have always felt like denying who I truly am would be like denying my grandmother the same way her family denied her. So I will never pick one race, because I am Multi-Racial, and I will always check the “other” box. So I wonder if the fact that most of the world is looking at Obama has a black man, disturbs him just a little bit. Just my random thoughts…
